I know you submitted your story quite some time ago. I've been dealing with eye issues that have made reading online a major problem. My apologies for taking so long to post.

It does sound as though your father targeted you for abuse because you weren't born the gender he wanted. And when he called you a "bad girl" when you did something he didn't like, going against calling you a boy, I'd say he had issues with women in general. The reason I point this out is that it might be helpful to know that what he did to you, personal and awful as it was, had nothing to do with you. Understanding this doesn't change anything that he did, and it doesn't change that you were deeply affected by his abuse, but knowledge can be powerful when it comes to healing.

You WERE and ARE enough. Keep telling yourself that and believe it. Don't believe the lies he told you about yourself, directly and indirectly. He has no credibility, as long as you decide he has no credibility.

I send you continued healing energy. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.
