What a wonderful friend you have in this young woman. She handled the situation exactly as she needed to, and in the process, you felt safe enough to disclose to your mom. I'm delighted that this sick excuse of a human being is now out of your life. But it sickens me that once again, a pedophile gets to roam free, possibly--likely--abusing other young victims.

Thank you for sharing your story here, Stephanie. May you find the strength to heal more and more with the passing of time and with your own growth and maturity. Perhaps you'll find a way to bring purpose to what you endured.
