I thank YOU for bringing to light the fact that we must all speak up about child abuse if we have any hope in helping those who have been victimized by it. And I hope that you and your two girls are on the road of healing and recovery. Your post here certainly shows that you're turning pain into power. Keep up the great work, Tanya! Thank you for sharing with my visitors and me.

Good for you, Tanya! I also am a survivor of child sexual abuse. Maybe one day, I can be just as strong as you. You're an inspiration!

silence
by: Scott 1

Hello my fellow Canadian. I would like to add that silence is a nasty side effect of child abuse. Silence because parents and siblings dont want to air their dirty little secrets or bone filled closet to the community much less each other/themselves. Its devestating and frustrating, avoidence and denial that is. Speaking from experience and its going on near 50 years of non-discussion. Once Im dead it will be burried with me, unresolved, unconfronted. Maybe its too embarrassing for them to confront...what about the child/adult victim/surviver.
