Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me. To be so betrayed and abandoned by your own father, the man responsible for keeping you safe, is soul-stealing. There are no words adequate to share my disgust at these men. I can only hope for your continued healing, Nigel.

Hi Nigel,
I get that you have flashbacks.I am 63 and though I didnt suffer the same way you did, I was molested by my older brother who performed oral sex on me when I was seven in front of my favorite brother. He is now a grandfather and I never did have children, though I have been married for 29 years to a Very KIND loving man.
I hope you are careful about who you tell your story to. People, even therapists can be VERY wrong in what they say. I like sharing with Darlenes group of people. Just take good care of yourself and enjoy your time from now on. Nothing takes the pain away like a good laugh now and then.I love watching Graham Norton on BBC America. He is so open about sex its amazing and he can make you laugh. He makes me laugh with his famous guests telling stories and his `big red chair`....
Please be careful with yourself and pray a LOT. There is a patron Saint in the Catholic Church called St. Dymphna for emotional and nervous disorders. Look her up...she helps me.

Dear Nigel, your story is shocking, I agree with Darlene. It's simply tragic and the most awful kind of betrayal that your own father did that to you. I was never sexually abused and I was lucky to have an amazing dad especially as I lost my mum at a young age. I don't understand how ANYONE could do such disgusting atrocities to any child let alone their own. It is sad that your father did not know how lucky he was to be blessed with a child. I hope you find peace.xx
