Treat YOURSELF with dignity and respect, and then others will treat you with dignity and respect...
by: Darlene Barriere - Webmaster

Malorie, I'm glad you got the help you needed. Always remember that YOU need to be the hero in your own life. When someone treats you with disrespect, you must show in no uncertain terms that you refuse to BE treated that way, and then be prepared to walk away from that relationship if it becomes necessary. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.

Why, Oh Why, ? I keep asking myself do women stay in a violent relationship.
by: maurice

I know of so many women who fooled themselves into a false sense of love for the Man who beat them balck and blue, bruised their ego so badly that they lost their self dignity, self esteem, self worth, and their will to fight back and tell someone. I am a sixty three year old male. What I wanted to do with the men who did this and still want to do with men who do it is unprintable. I cringe even to this day when I read in surveys done that Domestic Vilence is on the increas again in 2009. MALORIE, great you broke free, Darlene woman's heart has said it all to you in her comment. I am beautiful, I am intelligent, i am articulate, I am a woman with dignity, I was the most beautiful child ever birthed. begin acknowledgeing that beauty within yourself Malorie give hope to all women by your strong willed stand for all who find themselves in such a relationship. I will, I can, I must just for me firstly and then all other women. I am conscious that a very small percent of Men live in a violent relationship too. too insignifican to make a big deal of. Women are not weak, they are of equal strength mentally maybe not so physically but it is mind over matter when one needs to walk away from such a relationship. Good on you Malorie for having the courage to do so. Control freaks of ignorant abnoxious Male animals who are mindless morons who are violent towards their victims. LOVE ain't there so don't be fooled. Abuse of children/teenagers is not separated in such Violent Relationships. If we study child abuse, we will find a very high percent of their abusers have come from such violent homes and relationships. We must still ask the question Why do women remain in such relationships. I know of so many who got barring orders from their violent husband/partne to find that they relent and take him back. Why. oh Why Ladies.
