I'm so glad that you find the inner strength to break it off with this abuser. And don't be so hard on yourself for not understanding what was happening at the time. The human brain does not fully develop until one is about 24 or 25 years old; and as a result, teenagers can't predict the consequences of their actions. That's why they still need the guidance of their parents, and the benefit of the experience of the adults in their lives. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.
