I know you submitted your story quite some time ago. I've been dealing with eye issues that have made reading online a major problem. My apologies for taking so long to post.

It is all too common for others to call the victim a liar. And though this happens often, it's important for victims to never lose sight of the fact that it DID happen. You KNOW you were abused. And you remember how. It's equally important to stop trying to make others believe. Instead, focus on healing for yourself.

If we rely on what others believe for our healing to begin, we rob ourselves of the opportunity for healing to enter into our lives. You didn't deserve the abuse, Chetara...you certainly deserve to heal from it.

And you're right...child abuse can be stopped through education. The more we all realize this, then implement that education, the better chance we have of stopping abuse more often.
