My sincere apologies for taking so long to post your submission. I've been dealing with eye issues that have made reading online a major problem.

Your story most definitely should be out there as a warning for all parents.

As you already know, your parents' decision to allow this sleepover put you at risk. And now you're left with the residual effects.

Even today, with all the information available and the stories of abuse that continue to surface, there are parents who are oblivious to the vulnerability of their children. Sometimes parents make such decisions because they are more interested in making their children happy than they are in doing what needs to be done to keep them safe from potential harm. Sometimes they are simply too darn trusting. Whatever the reason, your story is an important reminder. Thank you for sharing it here. I send you love and continued healing energy.
