You were one of the lucky ones to find a better life with a boyfriend. Many female survivors who leave home as soon as they're old enough and escape with a boyfriend, find themselves in relationships that are abusive. They end up going from one type of abuse to another. I'm happy that didn't happen to you. And I'm delighted that you're happy.

You have to do what is best for you. And right now, that means no contact with your family. Distance is what you need at this point. Keep taking care of yourself, Katie.
