To be abandoned and betrayed by so many...even when we have blessings (like your paternal grandparents) the residual emotional aftermath is overwhelming and extremely difficult to overcome. All we can do is take it one day at a time.

Meet yourself where you are, without judgment. Recognize the strength that you have. The courage that you have. After all, you survived; there are many who don't, either through the abuse or at their own hands.

Yes, you are a survivor. And as you embrace the healing journey that you are on, as you embrace each opportunity of healing that comes in the form of remembering and/or triggers, you will come to see yourself not as a survivor, but as a thriver.

I send you love, light and healing energy. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.
