Prayer is sure one great way of saying hi to God our Father in heaven who is love. I try to fathom that great mystery of my belief in God. As a Christian I believe that His son came on earth, walked and talked with people as a child, son of Mary & Joseph, born poor, upset his parents by running away to be about his Father's business without telling them. They were his anxious parents, like all modern day good parents, for three days until they found him. He worked with his daddy in his carpenter's shop. Spent three years of his life telling people I am the son of God. He was human, got angry, yet he was faultless and without sin.
God sent his son out of total love for me as a believer in the Christian faith. God's love was shown to me by my mother, a single mam, and by my aunt and neighbour's family in 1946 by keeping me at home and rearing me when the Catholic/Christian church stigmatised mothers like mine and me being her beautiful gift from God child. It is that love, my belief that has given me a greater sense of forgiveness to my abuser. And to all who abused. Never at any time and ever in any way to condone the abuse that they perpetrated against the innocent.
All those who abused and abuse are not right-thinking human beings or right-minded believers in a God. Love is truly real for me when I respect the dignity and rights of the other human being I journey with. I accept that all human beings are spirit-filled and therefore are spiritual in their living of life.
Note from Darlene: The volume of contributor submissions has now made it impossible for me to comment personally (especially in great detail) on each and every contribution. If I haven't left you a comment or one that is in-depth, please do not take my lack of a personal response as a slight, or as a statement that your story is somehow unworthy of my time. Nothing, and I do mean nothing, could be further from the truth. If there was a way for me to respond to all of you at length, I would.
