Being an eldest myself, I completely understand your need to protect your sisters. And I can relate to what it's like to watch your father do harm to one of your siblings and scream at him to stop because he's going to kill him or her. I also know the threats and the beatings that always followed. Similar situation with my mother as with yours. So you're not alone, Hazey.

Just know that you're a really wonderful person. One who cares. One who has compassion and understanding.

As for the pedophile that was your dad's work mate, in a phrase, you dodged a bullet there.
