Screaming from the rooftops...
by: Darlene Barriere - Webmaster

I commend you for not allowing this inter-generational child abuse to continue. Too many would have walked away, defeated or demoralized. The children need someone like you to stand up for them, because they don't have much of a chance on their own.

Thank you for sharing with my visitors and me, and for refusing to stay silent.

I feel the same way too
by: Anonymous

My own child was also a victim of sexual abuse by a family member. it started when she was just 11 years of age and lasted for about a year when she finally broke her silence recently. it was really a heartbreaking moment and for a mother not able to protect her child at that time...i have reported the matter to the authority, arrested him and put him behind bars awaiting trial. i am too, is facing pressure from some family members to just let him go and drop the case. but how could i let this monster get away for what he has done to my innocent child. it is my obligation as a mother to fight and defend my child and i will not keep silent or vow to pressures from anybody even if they disown me.

Stay strong with your convictions. Your daughter needs you, and you are definitely going about things in the right way. Family does not have the right to even suggest what your family wants you to do. Shame on them!

Joel, I'm so sorry to learn of your situation.

Regarding your as yet un-posted comment, I would not be operating this site in a responsible manner if I were to allow the post without verification. Under the circumstances, I can only post a person's full name if you can provide me with some verifiable information about this man either being charged or even being questioned in relation to this crime. I understand your frustration and that you are trying to get justice for your daughter...perhaps you can send me an online news story (with the URL of where to find it) from a reputable source; otherwise, liability laws prevents me from publishing his full name. I trust you understand the position I'm in.
