You have a remarkable gift . . .
by: Darlene Barriere - webmaster

Your artwork is BEAUTIFUL, Sue! I'm honoured that you have shared a piece of it here on my site. You seem to have found a balance between self-expression and self-preservation; finding that balance is a key element to the healing and recovery process.

You said: "I missed out on college as a young adult because all I could think of was how do I get out of here? So I pretty much floundered and missed out on educational opportunities because of the after effects of severe abuse."

If it's a dream of yours, you're never too old to go back to school and take advantage of educational opportunities, Sue. You are never too old to fulfill the aspirations of your youth. Indeed, we need to tap into our youth in order to evoke those forgotten but purposeful goals and desires. Whatever your decision, I sincerely hope you will continue to share your extraordinary gift of drawing.
