I can be so helpful to have family to lean on and be supportive. To have family that doesn't deny what happened. But rather, embraces you. It's never easy to talk to family about such things. And it's not unusual for even the supportive family members to forget that the person who was abused is not to blame for not speaking up sooner. Your mother was hurt by you not telling her, then disappointed when you decided to go to therapy without her. What she didn't understand was that YOU were the one hurting. YOU were the one that was too fearful to come forward sooner. YOU were the one who needed to take control of your own healing.

I'm delighted that you were able to settle the ruffled feathers. But even more so that you did it on your terms. No one elses. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me. I send you love, light and healing energy, Rose.
