Child Slaverery
by: Linda

Touched2mysoul...I know exactly how you feel. Your mother made a slave out of you to make her own life easier. I came from a family of seven sisters and four brothers. Back in the sixties, we were put to work in cotton fields picking cotton for wealthy landowners, so my dad could have drinking money. I was four years old and was made to work like the older ones in 90 degree weather, I understand why you are so tired now as an adult, I feel the same way. I don't know how we can fix ourslves now and get rid of this tired feeling. I do thank god, That I am out of that abuse and slavery I withstood all those years and that makes living a little bit easier. You have wonderful children and that is worth being a little tired. Try taking a day off for yourself every once in awhile and maybe you'll feel a bit better.

you're a wonderful and valued person

Your experiences would leave anyone exhausted. Have you explained your feelings to your kids and others? You know appreciation and encouragement goes a long way, and you deserve both. You know sometimes others don't realize the obvious--those who love and care so greatly for them need to display, out of a keen sense of love, reciprocation.

Understanding.......
by: advocate

If it's difficult to "tell" of your feelings, have you ever thought to write a letter to others, explaining your feelings. I had an uncle who had very little formal educaion, but he was always wise in my eyes for something that he would always say, "understanding is the best thing in the world". Others didn't think much of my uncle and saw him as contributing very little to the world at large, but how profound he really was. When we communicate feelings, especially, we are vulnerable, but that's even an aspect of healthy relationships.
