Your experience is not at all unusual. It is not uncommon to not realize the effects of child abuse until one is more mature and going through another stage of life. The fact that you are now in therapy and working hard toward healing and recovery, AND that you've made such tremendous progress already, tells me that you are truly committed to the process and to making your relationship with this man work. Stay the course, Tee, and do the best you can. That's all you can ask of yourself. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.

 Don't ever give up on YOURSELF: Always believe in yourself

Great you are in therapy: Great you are relating this to darlene and her visitors because it is the way forward and out of abuse in wholesome way: You are lucky too to have a therapist that relaxes you to be true to yourself in the telling: Darlene sure knows how blessed you ar to be in Therapy: She knows the benefit of it herself: She truly has proved there is life afetr abuse: She is utilizing all she learned from her Therapy and traing to help each of her visitors to her site and in all her caring and lecturing to Families/Schools/Groupds on the awfulness and the effects of abuse: She is good woman: Tee, her comment to you will empower more once you keep making progresss in your healing: Have a healthy mind in a Healthy Body: Oh yes at 35/36 you can: Joing a few clubs, take part with others who want to live a healthy life: Always believe in your self: I will: I can: I mmust: Because I am WORTH it: Tee I want what is the best for in the NOW time of your life: Live each day to the full while letting go of the efects that abuse has had on your life: Think positive: Act positive: Be positive: For all you do and say about yourself: I'M SPECIAL: I LOVE ME: I do, I do, Now get on with your life:
