The effects of child abuse on the child are FOREVER! Its something that stays with me everyday... it changed who i was as a child and influences who i am as an adult.... I will never forget.... my soul will never forget... my spirit will never forget... my self confidence will never forget...I am 40 years old

 was normal back then and not talked about

Hello....take a stroll through my story and see for yourself what was normal, accepted behavior of adults toward children back in the early 1970's.
They didnt talk about it because it was "normal" back then. I can assure you though, that in my mid 40's Im still very effected by what was done to me.

For instance, today when a child dies it is normal for a greif counsilor to go to the school and be there for any student wishing to open up and talk about it. Express their feelings. When I was growing up....we had no feelings. My best freind was killed and it was never discussed. You would think that I, being his best freind everyday at school would at least be taken aside for a cry on the shoulder. All that happened was that I went to school the next day and he wasnt there.
To this day noone has spoken of it to me. I never saw him again. That was 38 years ago! I guess children didnt feel back in the olden days.

Every person feels and abuse effects every despite the time/century it took place people just make a bigger deal about it nowhere days as it is a problem and looked at as abnormal i guess. Where as in the olden days heaps of people were abuse in poor and rich places it was everyday life for all the community so noone cared it seemed normal. where as nowhere days its not normal and is frowned upon in everyday households. People don't know or understand abuse in the way they used to peoples views and perspectives as well as there values have changed with time!!!
