Your brother was likely molested himself, and then began molesting you. He quite likely acted out what had happened (or was still happening) to him. It doesn't excuse what he did to you; it offers an explanation, one that might help you to deal with the aftermath. I strongly recommend some form of counseling in order to help you deal with the repercussions of being sexually abused as a child. You had no power as a child. You CAN take your power back now that you're an adult. But that means getting help for yourself. It's one of the most loving things you can do for yourself. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.

You are in a good place right now: having related your sexual abuse story intruth and honesty Darlene has given you encouraging and helpful words for you to act on: You sure have found a safe place to begin from: Counselling will help you loads to put all your brother did to you in perspective: It was never your fault: he was older than you therefore he had the power: out of fear you did not talk to anyone at the time: He knew when to sexually abuse and molest you times when your parents were not about or were but knew it was safe: More then likely he too was molested himself: did not see anything wrong with it so he molested you even though you were his younger brother: Manuel,the fact you found this site means you want help to let go of those traumatic years in your life: You have gotten on with your life, you have settled happily, all you need do now is let those years of your life behind you: once you speak with a counsellor, you will and begin to live your life to the full: you have sought advice and help: Darlene sure has given you that: Don't delay: act and get some counselling: then be gentle and kind to yourself then live well: laugh alot: Love much: you'll be fine
