Firstly, I'm so proud of you for telling! Secondly, you didn't "decline" because your brother who was 6 years older than you (an eternity older than you) "groomed" you. He took advantage of your youth, your innocence and your vulnerabilities; he used them all against you. Thirdly, you ARE suffering the effects: "incest nightmares, the uncomfortable feeling you get when you're around other men in your family"; these are all effects, and there are probably more that you might not yet realize. As you move through the various ages and stages of your life, you may find the effects become even more haunting. That's why counseling is so important. But if you're not willing to do the work required in counseling, but instead treat the sessions as though the counselor is there as a "tedious child", then you're not ready for it. By the same token, you were betrayed by the counselor you saw earlier in your life. Not all counselors are created equally. I hope you'll consider seeking another counselor in order to help you deal with the repercussions of being sexually abused. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.

My dad abused me for four years i agree with it to n in a way knew it was wrong but he tricked me into thinking it was okay. Well i have a friend who's brother abused her and it breaks my heart i want to cry averytime i think about it but she doesnt wanna say anything i understand! My advise to you is read books about sexual abuse healing it helped me and talk to a friend. Is so hard to be alone in this. You feel so different so empty and wotthless i understand you! But together we can overcome this you are not alone WE ARE NOT ALONE!
