So glad you got out of that abusive environment...
by: Darlene Barriere - Webmaster

Larrisa, I gather you are still very young, perhaps even still a minor. You wrote that you wonder "what will happen to me now?" You must try to find help for yourself. If you are still a child, please consider contacting Child Help at 1-800-4-A-CHILD (1-800-422-4453) in order to talk to someone about the abuse you dealt with. They are staffed 24/7 with professionally trained counsellors who will listen to you. And they may be able to provide some options available to you. If you are an adult, consider a local woman's shelter as a resource. You didn't deserve to be mistreated. You DO deserve to find help for yourself. Don't ever forget that your mother was troubled; and as such, she filled you with lies, messages that were untrue. You ARE loveable. You ARE worthy. You ARE smart and articulate. You ARE worthy of love and dignity and respect. You got a raw deal as a small child. Now it's up to you to treat yourself with the dignity and respect you deserved but never received.

Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me, Larrisa, and for including your all-important message. I just hope that you are able to apply that message to yourself. I wish you all the best.

A few words...
by: Emme

Larrisa, I will not sit here and tell you how horrid your family was. You know that they were, and that is no help. I will sit here and tell you, however, how wonderful you are, and that you are incredible and strong. I wasn't able to escape my life at your age, and i must say that I am proud of you for doing so. You are incredibly brave and smart, and i wish you all the best. Unfortunately, I can't give you any advice on what to do as far as being on your own. I never was, I always had my brother Nikki.

love and prayers,
Emme

Hello Larrisa i'm Larissa funny isnt it to Larissa had the same experiace with abuse, i do understand how you feel and went threw alot of the same experiances as well, my father had beaten me and my mother alot, i was also sexually abuse by him from the ages of five to about 13. there were days were i felt is this the end, i'm i going to die to today? Many years later i know fight back by writing a story about my childhood, in hopes that it will inspire other victims to come forward with there stories, because its nothing to be shamed about, but something other can learn from.
