You're a wonderful caring and compassionate friend. And though your friend wants you to keep the secret, the longer the secret is kept, the longer the abuse will continue. I knew you're in a difficult situation. You don't want to betray your friend's trust, and you don't want her to face going back to another foster home when she doesn't want to go. But her situation will never change if people don't step up and speak up on her behalf. I suggest you contact Child Help at 1-800-4-A-CHILD (1-800-422-4453) in order to talk to someone about the abuse you are aware of. They are staffed 24/7 with professionally trained counsellors who will listen to you. They are not a reporting agency. Visit their website by copying & pasting the following URL into your browser: http://www.childhelp.org/get_help

And don't forget to take care of yourself, Kyle. It's very distressing to learn that a friend is being abused. You need to lean on your support system to make sure you are well cared for too. Thank you for sharing your friend's story with my visitors and me.
