NOT your fault...
by: Darlene Barriere - Webmaster

Emmie, although I'm very sad to hear that your mother and maternal grandmother disowned you, I am delighted to learn that your paternal grandmother has made a safe and happy home for you, a home you deserve to have.

It is perfectly natural to feel the way you do about your mother and the way she has treated you. Being discarded so callously must have been devastating. Just remember that you have a grandmother who loves you and is protecting you. So don't for one second think that you aren't worthy of a mother's love. You ARE worthy. You ARE deserving. It's your mother and her mother with problems, VERY SERIOUS problems.

If you ever feel the need to talk to someone other than your paternal grandmother, Emmie, consider calling the people at Child Help at 1-800-4-A-CHILD (1-800-422-4453). They are staffed 24/7 with professionally trained counsellors who will listen to you. It might be a really good idea for you to ask your grandmother if it would be possible to see a counsellor, a professional who can help you deal with the emotional turmoil you are dealing with.

And Emmie, I know you're worried about your little sister. All I can say is that if you're in touch with Annie, be supportive. My prayers are with you dear.
