You're an exceptional, caring and compassionate brother. I'm delighted that your abuser was "put away" for his crimes against you and your brother. It does sound as though you and your family have moved forward, especially as it relates to who is to blame. For the benefit of all visitors landing on this page, blame is always on the shoulders of the offender because the offender chooses to offend. It is NEVER the victim's fault. You couldn't have known that your pedophile of a father would also sexually abuse your little brother. As full grown adults, it's so easy to apply adult more mature values to what we have and have not done as children, but we must always remember that our abusers had all the power, and they misused that power and took advantage of our vulnerabilities. Be the best dad you can be, Dominic. In that way, you've gone from victim to victory. Thank you for sharing your story and your all-important message with my visitors and me.

Dominic, don't blame yourself for that sick pig's crimes against you, your brother and even your mom because you guys did nothing wrong. You and your brother were the children; he was the adult; he had all the power and he misused it over you guys. I'm glad that you guys reported him to the police because pedophiles don't stop until the authorities force them to stop; I just hope that you guys and even your mom will get counselling. I wish you guys and even your sons all the best.

Dominic, I really admire you for trying to protect your brother from that animal! I'm so happy you and your Mom and Brother came to terms with who to blame for his horrible crime.And I'm glad he is rotting in jail and have time to think about what he did. Your brother is blessed to have you,when I read your story it gave me hope. You are truly an inspiration!........Linda
