It's been my personal and professional experience that confrontations don't work the way we want them to. We tend to expect our abusers to admit to guilt and even apologize. But that seldom happens. Instead, confrontations are riddled with denials, minimizations and worst of all, pointing the finger of blame to the victim. See my article on my healing blog titled Confrontations: Are They Necessary for Healing for more information on this issue. If you're concerned about other children at the hands of these cousins, then you must act.

Your memory is coming in bits and pieces. That's not unusual. Consider some form of therapy or healing modality to help you deal with these memories. Know that you were not to blame. Know that you can heal. Know that the reason it's all coming back to you now is because your mind knows that you are capable of handling it, and that it's an opportunity for deep healing. You deserve that deep healing. I send you love, light and healing energy, Deitra. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.
