I think so many times, if only I would have said more. The little bit I did admit, my mom dismissed. My dad first abused me around 1st grade. The only thing I remember about that time was him with his hands down my pants, telling me my sister loved him more 'cause she didn't fight. The only other thing I remember was hiding in the closet, naked with my stepsister.
My father was a drug addict. He would forget me a lot in various places, abuse anything around him, and often put us down. He went to prison for a short time when I was in kindergarten . . . was out by the time I was in 1st grade.
My mom made us see him on the weekends. To this day, I want to ask her why, even when I pleaded, she made me go. She never has had an answer.
Nowadays, I try to forget. I protect my kids and pray for those living through it. All of you stay strong and remember, it wasn't you . . . it was all them and their selfishness.
