Child Abuse Story From Keena:

I'm not sure where to start. My birth mother abused me and my sisters. She didn't feed us, she was always drunk and on drugs, and she was a prostitute. She would sell us to her clients to make money for drugs. Finally, the state took us away and we went to foster homes, where we were still abused.

We were beat with hot irons, extension cords, belts, tree limbs, metal rods, and bats, anything handy at the time. We were shot at by our foster parents. We were poisoned with bleach by them. We were degraded with every name you could call a person. We were made to go to church in our underwear with blood on it when we started our period because no one had told us about it. We didn't know, so that was how they embarrassed us. They tried to drown us and strangle us. They would make us beat on each other. They kept us out of school because of the questions. They sexually abused us. They used hangers and hot curling irons on our private parts. I spent 16 years in foster care, and it seemed like at every foster home there was more abuse.

I am now 25 and still have nightmares. I can't stand to have anyone touch me...I don't know how to fix it....

I have 2 boys of my own now, and I've tried to let that part of my life go. I don't ever want them to suffer the way we did.
