Child Abuse Story From Felicity:

I was four years old when my dad started to sexually abuse me. My parents were going through a divorce and my sister and I spent weekends with my dad. This is when he would abuse me, every weekend, regular each night. He told me that people were watching me all the time and that if I told anyone he would kill my mum and sister. I was so young and I believed him. This carried on until I was seven years old, when my mum was granted custody of me and my sister. We finally plucked up the courage to say we didn't want to visit him anymore. My mum knew we were scared of him because he hit us, but to this day I have never told a soul in-person about my sexual abuse.

I'm 18 now, and since the age of 15, have been having sex and getting drunk to help blot out the memories. I have a beautiful little girl, Alarna-Rae, who is 2 and a handsome little boy, Keihgan, who is 9 months old. My angels keep me on the straight-and-narrow.

How people can be so cruel to children is beyond me. I study childcare at college and still find the child protection aspect really difficult, but I'm determined to make a difference. That's why I'm going to go to university to train as a social worker. I may not be able to stop child abuse altogether, but I'll be another small voice in a huge loud crowd. We need to get justice for all us kids who have lived the horror of child abuse.
