A very well thought out and documented essay. You've touched on most of the key points that allow child abuse to continue within society. As long as society as a whole does not make children a top priority, as long as we continue to take the position that children are property, as long as we act in a way that shows we do not believe children have rights, then child abuse will not only continue, it will escalate and increase in numbers. But people like you, Nicole, give me hope. People like you make a difference when we speak out and act. Thank you for sharing your essay with my visitors and me. We need more people like you in the world.

You'll note I edited what you wrote...this is because it did not fit into my template. But the integrity of your essay remains intact.

We must keep speaking out against abuse in all forms
by: maurice

Blossom in the Corner of the world you find yourself in this regard: Only at the tree root can we work at Making Children a top priority: I can only speak from my corner here in Ireland: Sadly apathy rather then empathy has set in where this priority is concerned: I am not so sure Parents of children are hearing or heeding all that has been set in place even in our small nation ALL that our Govenment has done as is doing in setting in stone safeguarding guidelines for all to follow and giving children a new rights bill: Education is so so important: from time to time I hear of children whic of their parents: These parents still want what is best for their children and want to teach them right from wrong but children don't seem to heed them: And say I have my rights you know: So yes by all means give children great rights but also put in place upto date rights of parents who are still the educators of their children: Yes, I hope you have reached the educated conclusion The percent of children who do did-respect abuse their parents are in the minority because there parents are not trained to be parents: Have children are ill equipped to love and cherish them equally: Yet the natural insticts of a mother especially will always be the winner because the bond between her and the child is greater than any guideline or right: Let's work at keeping the famiuly unit fully natural and real and a top priority then Chldren will always be a top priority
