 Fear of whippings...

Whippings in and of themselves are terrifying to children of any age, let alone children who some would consider still babies.

As for whether or not a three-year-old child can mistake sodomy as a whipping, it's very possible, especially if whipping and the pain associated with it is what they have come to expect for discipline. Children can only articulate what they understand. A very young child who is used to being whipped on the backside for discipline can easily associate any other kind of physical battery of their backside as a whipping. However, that doesn't mean they've actually been sodomized.

If you suspect sodomy or any other abuse of these children, you have a moral obligation to report.
