Non-Verbal Autism & STD:
My daughter was raped but it wasn't considered a rape until the "STD" became her enter voice brought fourth. I have started a program to help guardians to come together a "speak" for our grown children adn revist the "LAW". My daughter can not speak or has no idea about "sex" and a staff member was accused of abuse turned into rape due to "std". What I never knew it would ever happen to my daughter or really how anyone could do this to a person that can not protect themselves or speak, a adult in body from the neck down from the neck up my daughter is a baby. The law has really shocked my soul to the core how this has been treated. I speak for my daughter enough is enough!
Without a voice then the predator will always "win" and the world will wish the best for healing and move on until the next is reported or like most cases (not).. How many of these adults with autism, disabled, special needs have to be abused until more is done about it to protect them to prevent and decrease the increase of abuse that is happening? We as parents of our adult children with special needs-- "NEEDS" our voices!
I have been fighting for two years those adults without voices in group homes without question should have cameras installed, most court cases that are won are those who have been great caregivers who has hidden phones just to get proof of abuse.
Parents have to gather together and speak up! Survivors, Co-Survivors, Parents everyone has to share their voice for those who can not speak! That is a healing in itself, enough is enough! You raped the wrong female!!
